For secondary 5s still undecided about post-secondary plans:
Alternative options include:
1 – Continuing Education (part time, night studies) in July once receiving your final marks, and then transferring to the regular division in the winter semester. As long as students meet graduation requirements by July-August, they are eligible for continuing education. Students must apply on SRAM (John Abbott & Vanier College) or directly from the CEGEP’s website (Dawson College).
2 - TAV college or other private colleges (e.g., LaSalle College). They are still accepting applications for fall.
3 – Applying to CEGEP by November 1st to start in January. Students may also wish to consider retaking some core courses in adult education during the summer/fall to improve grades prior to reapplying to CEGEP. Registration for summer courses at Place Cartier begins on June 11th. Alternatively, students can also retake certain courses in summer school.
4 – Vocational training. Many programs are still accepting applications for fall.
5 – Grade 12. Offered at select private high schools and TAV college in QC.
Tutoring Resources. A variety of tutoring services are offered through the school and privately. Please contact the guidance counsellor for more information.
