Welcome to Macdonald High School!
Here is some information about events that will be taking
place in preparation for the beginning of high school:
•Transition to High School Seminar for Parents:
The Guidance department will be hosting a workshop to welcome our new grade 7 parents on Tuesday, June 4th at 7:00pm . The “High School…an inside look!” seminar will address common concerns that parents may have as their children begin this new stage of their educational journey. We look forward to meeting you this spring!
•Transition to High School Workshop for Students:
This workshop takes place in the grade 6 classes at the LBPSB elementary schools in our catchment area later this spring. The students learn about the daily routine of a high school student and have the opportunity to get answers to any questions or concerns they may be having about what high school is going to be like.
• Pen Pal Project 2019:
This is a new initiative by our Cycle 1 teachers to start a conversation about high school between our Grade 7 students and Grade 6 students from several of our neighbouring elementary schools. The Grade 6 classes who are participating in the project will be spending part of the day at Macdonald High on March 27th!
•Schedules & Fee Payment:
We will send you information about how to access your child’s schedule and different payment options for school fees in mid-August. The bus pass will be available on the LBPSB Fusion portal. Parents new to the School Board should create an account on Fusion using the email that you gave at the time of registration and your child’s Quebec Permanent Code (on the school report card). Step by step instructions for making an account on Fusion are available at the bottom of the homepage of the Mac Guidance Services website: wwwmacguidanceservices.weebly.com
•Secondary 1 Opening Day:
The first day of school for secondary 1 students will be Friday, August 30th 2019. This day will be for secondary 1
students only. Parents will be invited to a short assembly in the morning. Lunch will be provided for the students.
We look forward to welcoming you to our school community. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to
